The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has released an issues paper outlining an intention to harmonise the QLD, NSW, VIC and SA Grains Harvest Management Schemes (GHMS).
To effectively respond to the review GrainGrowers and Grain Producers Australia have established a working group with each of the state-farming organisations to ensure a collective response is given.
The working group supports a scheme that acknowledges the difficulties of on-farm loading of grains and practical responses to unintended overloading. We are seeking a nationally consistent and harmonised scheme that is designed so no jurisdiction is worse off compared to what currently exists.
