We represent the interests of Australian grain growers relating to:
GrainGrowers works to develop rigorous, transparent, and evidence-based policy positions to improve the sustainability and profitability of the Australian grain industry.
Through thought leadership and evidence based policy development, GrainGrowers sets the agenda for the Australian grains industry.
GrainGrowers is a Representative Organisation (RO) to the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) and works to ensure that GRDC investments are in the best interests of levy payers.
Our positions focus on the following areas
Developing policy at GrainGrowers is about being proactive and responsive to issues that have a direct impact on grain producers.
The Framework involves includes opportunities for input and consultation directly from individual producers, such as the Annual Policy Survey, direct grower events in each state and GrainGrowers’ Grower Development alumni.
We have a 3 tiered approach to developing policy
Input by individual producers through GrainGrowers website, direct contact with staff or NPG member. All members are able to participate in an annual policy issues survey and micro surveys, emails and texts.
GrainGrowers engages with growers in a variety of ways, from face-to-face discussions, social channels and other communication mediums, ensuring key issues identification and two-way, grower led input into key policy issues. GrainGrowers works hard to also deliver feedback on policy outcomes and also align its policy and advocacy work with its grower and industry development activities.
The National Policy Group (NPG) provides input into, review and approval of GrainGrowers’ national policy positions developed on behalf of all Australian grain farmers.

Behind Australian Grain is the Australian Grains Industry sustainability framework developed to strengthen our industry’s sustainability and assist in ensuring we continue to meet the changing expectations and needs of our consumers, the community, investors and governments for the decade to 2030.
