GrainGrowers has launched Carbon Calculators compared for Australian grain growers, a research report for growers looking to measure greenhouse gas, or carbon dioxide equivalent emissions on-farm. It compares five tools which can be applied to cereal, pulses and oilseeds. The results weren’t always what was expected and the report found that these calculators need further work before farmers can be confident in assessing their net emissions. The report will help farmers consider the different tools available and understand their strengths, pitfalls and shortcomings.
