GrainGrowers provided a submission the Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee inquiry on the Agriculture (Biosecurity Protection) Levies Bill 2024 and related bills.
The GrainGrowers submission suggested changes to improve outcomes from the measure, and highlighted industry concerns with the design and development of the bills.
Amongst changes to the measure put forward by GrainGrowers includes greater transparency and accountability on the funds collected, and the need for the Department to report on performance against its biosecurity activities.
