GrainGrowers’ has welcomed Troy Williams' appointment as the CEO of the National Farmers Federation.

Mr Williams joins NFF with an extensive career background in working for peak business organisations, most recently in the position of CEO with the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia.

He replaces outgoing CEO Tony Maher, who has moved to a new position as Australian Energy Infrastructure Commissioner.

GrainGrowers CEO Shona Gawel said she looked forward to working with Mr Williams on various issues relevant to grains and the wider agriculture sector.

"Commencing in an election year represents a challenge, but his thirty-plus years in working with industry bodies and his background in driving change to deliver profitability and growth undoubtedly positions him well to meet the unique demands of the position."
